Patriotic Art Contest
All Kansas High School youth are encouraged to compete for prize money to enhance the Kansas statewide celebration of the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment.
The 19th Amendment Centennial committee will recognize Outstanding Women of Kansas at a spirited and fun-filled evening on Thursday, August 13 at the Old Town Visitors' Center, Wichita, KS. This is a juried competition. Winners will display their artwork around the Visitors' Center during dinner where they, too, will be recognized and presented their checks.
The deadline to submit pictures of your entries (up to three) below is April 1, 2020 at midnight. The following media are accepted: oil, acrylic, watercolor, ink, pencil, pastel and digital. All pieces must be original and not published anywhere before. Entries should have a patriotic or suffragist theme only.
Prizes to be awarded: $500 for the first place, $250 for second place, and $100 each for third, fourth and fifth places.
The mission of the 19th Amendment Centennial is to recognize the women who went before and the leadership of today's women who continue to fight for women's rights. For more information, contact Catherine Linaweaver at President@19thCentennial.com.
